microkarren

microkarren
Very small dissolutional channels, commonly 1–3mm across; parallel, convergent or randomly intersecting on a limestone surface. Though found in all climatic regions they are most conspicuous in semi-arid and periglacial environments, where dissolutional processes are minimal and very slow. The random patterns of some microkarren may be due to the effects of condensation water [9].
